The flimsy paper-insert luggage tag that comes with most suitcases tears off at the first conveyor belt. A sublimated aluminum tag is a different category of product. The print is dyed into the coating, so it does not rub off when the tag drags across other bags in the cargo hold, and the rigid metal does not snap at the strap loop the way thin plastic tags do.
The front face prints in full color, edge to edge. The back has a clear plastic window for a printed contact card with name, phone, and address, which is the safer way to handle ID information than printing it directly on the tag where strangers can read it from a distance. The contact card slides in and out, so the same tag can be updated for different trips, different addresses, or family members swapping the tag between bags.
The included leather strap loops through a reinforced grommet at the top. Real bonded leather, not vinyl, so it ages into the bag rather than cracking after a hot summer in a car trunk. The buckle holds firmly through normal handling.
